Hi, I’m Katie

My name is Katie Croft, and I am excited to be facilitating sessions and groups at Mountain Creative Arts Counseling’s Sliding Scale Clinic. I am a second-year graduate student in the Creative Arts Therapy program at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.  I have my Bachelors in studio art and photography from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a Master of Fine Art from Pratt in Painting and Drawing.  Through art and its healing abilities I have come to the arts therapy program with excitement and hope and a passion to serve others.

My work is informed by Steven Porges’ Polyvagal theory and Corenlia Englebrecht’s work in Clayfield Therapy.  I believe that through art, and more specifically clay, we can learn to connect with our bodies and learn to have radical love for ourselves and others. I am excited to work alongside you as you begin your journey toward healing and mental health.

I am committed to continuing to learn about trauma informed practices in the field of art therapy and have recently completed a Certificate in Expressive Arts and Somatic Approaches to Collective Grief and Trauma as well as completing a Certificate in Somatic Embodiment & Regulation Strategies: Level I. 

When I am not working I spend much of my time in my studio playing in the mud (aka clay) or hiking with my dog and family and exploring the beautiful mountains and streams of North Carolina.

  • Master’s Candidate in Creative Arts Therapy, from Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, NY (In progress, 2022)
  • Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art, Painting & Drawing, from Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, NY (Completed in 2020)
  • Bachelor of Fine Art w/ emphasis in Photography, from Baylor University, in Waco, TX (Completed in 2005)

Sliding Scale Rates

Serving Residents of NC.

Rates are determined upon intake, and range from $25-$60 per session.

Payment is due upon time of service, and all major HSA, FSA, debit and credit cards are accepted. We ask for 24 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling, otherwise you will be responsible for the fee for that session.

Katie is not accepting insurance at this time.

Please note that all therapy sessions will be conducted virtually.
